Academic & Research Programming Services
Academic Research Programming Services provides support for research and education projects. Programmers develop software applications and websites to enhance teaching and learning on campus. The service also offers recharge programming to UC Davis Health.
Academic Course Evaluations
Academic Course Evaluation (ACE) makes course evaluations easier for the students as well as reduces the effort needed get accurate course evaluation data. Ace also significantly reduces the amount of time before evaluation information is available to faculty and staff.
AggieVideo Streaming Platform
UC Davis’ AggieVideo uses Kaltura, a YouTube-like video management portal that helps faculty and staff create, upload, edit, store, and stream video.

Videos can be shared securely with students through their Canvas course sites, and openly with the world through online streaming, all without ads and without non-UC Davis videos appearing alongside.

AggieVideo supports video capture from the classrooms as well as from the desktop.
Audio Production
ATS provides professional narration and audio production services in support of our instructional, research and outreach missions including studio recordings, on-location recordings, audio editing, audio for special events, and ISDN and IP broadcast services for radio outlets.
Audio Studio Recordings
ATS provides professional audio studio recording services for language instruction, staff training, radio interviews with national and international media, and other campus projects.
AV Equipment Installation & Support
The AV Equipment Installation and Support team consults with faculty to configure instructional media equipment. They can also propose systems and designs for classrooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, and other campus facilities. Qualified technical staff can install and upgrade state-of-the-art media systems.
Classroom Equipment Loan
The IET-Academic Technology Services department maintains and makes available a limited amount of equipment in support of classrooms.
Classroom Hotline
Provides fast technical support for faculty having difficulty with any media equipment or service in general assignment classrooms. The hotline dispatches a team member to the classroom within minutes, getting the lecture back on track with minimal disruption.
Classroom Media Training
Provides instructors with knowledge and experience to supervise hands-on learning in a technology setting. Training is scheduled, or can be arranged by request as either group or individual sessions.
Clickers (personal response systems)
Clickers, or personal response systems, resemble handheld remote-control devices. They collect electronic answers from students, and the results help instructors assess individual student responses during large lectures.

During class, students use wireless clicker remotes to answer questions from the instructor. The digital feedback is then transmitted to a receiver on the instructor’s laptop, where response data is immediately compiled for the instructor’s review. The model used on campus is the i>clicker.
