Campus Wireless Access
The wireless network on campus supports most devices (802.11 a/b/g/n) and is available to all eduroam and UC Davis computing account holders.

In addition, the UCD Guest wireless network is available to guests on campus.
Data Network Services
Data (NAM) installations, activations, and disconnects. The spectrum of communication services available at UC Davis can increase your efficiency in obtaining, distributing, and managing information.
DNS (Domain Name Service)
Domain Name System (DNS) converts names (e.g. www.ucdavis.edu) to IP addresses (e.g. 169.237.250.250) that are used by networked devices to locate other networked devices across the Internet. It can be compared to a phone book, allowing the user to enter a user-friendly name, and returning the address for that name.

The campus DNS settings are: Primary: 169.237.250.250 Secondary: 169.237.1.250
Eduroam
Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming wireless service developed for the international research and education community.

Once you’re connected to eduroam, you can enjoy secure WiFi access at UC Davis, other educational institutions, and hotspots worldwide. No matter where you roam, your UC Davis security credentials are always checked back home at UC Davis. At eduroam hotspots around the world no one but you knows your credentials so your connection is safe from hackers.
InCommon Certificates
InCommon Certificates guard sensitive user information (like credit card numbers) by encrypting the data when processing online transactions. Web servers with SSL certificates indicate that the server can be trusted to handle sensitive information securely.
Remote Access SSL/VPN
SSL VPN provides remote access to departmental servers, data sources and applications for faculty, staff and students.
UCD Guest Wireless
UCD-Guest is a wireless network that UC Davis provides to visitors on campus. If you are visiting UC Davis for a short period of time and you need a wireless connection, then this is the network you should use.
VLAN Services
A Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) facilitates “localized” routing and resource sharing capability for any computer on the campus network even if they are not located in the same physical location. By using MultiVLAN, campus departments can decrease the number of network connections (and the associated costs) needed to support servers and firewalls that span multiple VLANs.
Wireless Access Points
Looking for a care-free wireless solution? Communications Resources will meet your wireless needs with a desktop wireless access point, or custom installation of ceiling or wall mounted access points to provide service to most locations on campus.
